Thanks for the link to your blog. This is great. Very well done! Just half way through "Pale Blue Dot" and I just got done reading "Conversations with Carl Sagan."

An excellent effort honoring an unequaled teacher of mankind.

Hi Lang,

Incredible work you've done here. I can't even imagine the hours you've put into finding the right video to fit Carl's narration. The opening musical pieces are perfect also.

I hope you continue. This project will help bring Carl's insights to a new generation, and also bring it to those who are more apt to watch videos than to read.

Carl said "Science is a collaborative enterprise, spanning the generations. When it permits us to see the far side of some new horizon, we remember those who prepared the way - seeing for them also".

You were the one who reminded me of this stirring quote in your "Vision" tribute video.

And now, you are helping all of us see a little further by bringing Carl's vision to a new medium. I think he would appreciate your tributes.

I was lucky enough to meet Carl Sagan once, and I have been a fan of his for my whole life.

This is a true and accurate representation of his story. You really captured the heart of it. Thank you so much.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. It was really fantastic work.

I have been a Sagan follower for a lot of years and your show was an excellent depiction of his message. Awesome!

This is really wonderful. Thank you.

Let me state for the record that it is a fantastic documentary worthy of PBS and a moving and fitting tribute to Carl Sagan. PALE BLUE DOT episode 1 was just as good as any PBS production I have seen thus far.

Hi there ...

Say ... I know a major Carl Sagan fan working in China who can't get onto Google Video.

Is there any way you could upload this to YouTube?

Thank you for your comments, everyone.

I've been thinking about uploading more to YouTube, but they only allow videos of ten minutes, at most. So I'd have to break up episode one...

I'll look into it.

TooManyTribbles is in China. If you request "director status" on youtube, you can go beyond 10 mins.

Thank you so much for posting this great video. Damn international time line makes it look like I posted the video before you did (I must have found it within hours of you having posted it), but the credit should all go to you.

Keep up the good work, and I hope you can continue to post excellent videos like this.

Stunning, beautiful, and just about perfect.

I can't thank you enough.

I also can't help but hope you present the other chapters as well. I won't mind that some of them are read by J. Charles!

Thanks again.

Many many shades of Awesome. A fabulous production.

I wish you solid progress on this and anything else you may turn your hand to.

Came here by way of
Christopher Hitchens ILLUSTRATED 1 of 2
and then We Are Here: The Pale Blue Dot

Cheers.

sentimental waste of time. doesn't really address any issue. very superficial. i'm not a hardcore science-fan, but this is too thin... hopefully even by US education-standards... just as it got closer to actually telling about something, the presenter pulled back or changed the issue. sub-par... fantasy-science-mental-masturbation. useless-feel-good-...

This is a truly magnificent piece of work. With this labor of love, you have given a tremendous gift to legions of Sagan fans. Beyond that, you've produced something that stands well on its own, something that could very well build new fans and inspire young minds toward the pursuit of science. Although I own the Cosmos DVDs, I am always left wanting to see and hear more of Carl. But whereas I just wished for it, you did something about it. You have my thanks, my compliments, and my admiration.

The amount of work that must have gone into this is mind-boggling, and the result is pretty awesome.

Respect!

I do hope that someone from the mainstream media notices it and gets the hint to make a commercial production.

P.S.

Great video, though it would be nice if a higher quality recording could be obtained. Google Video's saved videos seem to have issues with audio sync.

You could upload the original to www.megaupload.com, as I believe the website has a file size limit of ~600mb, which should be enough for this video. Whether you decide to do this or not, keep up the good work!

Very good, chapter 2; Is it coming up?
